SUSO JOINS MEALS & MORE FOR CHARITY LUNCH

School-approved brand SUSO, and partner charity Meals & More have successfully attended their first joint event in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This comes after the soft drinks brand pledged their support in early 2023, to help the charity in the coming 3 years as Meals & More continues its quest to end holiday hunger for children and young adults living with poverty, here in the UK.

SUSO, a carbonated soft drink made from fruit juices and fizzy water, agreed the three-year partnership with Meals & More in early 2023 as part of its Stand Up Stand Out ethos; raising awareness and tackling social issues which affect its primary audience of school children and young adults.

Make Lunch Club

As part of the partnership, SUSO has not only provided funding to Meals & More – so that it can continue to support holiday clubs across the UK that offer healthy food and social activities for vulnerable children outside of term time – but also donated its range of drinks and toys, to support the TLG (Transforming Lives for Good) Make Lunch Club in Hinckley this summer.

Research commissioned by Meals & More shows that more than 70% of parents expect to struggle financially over the summer holidays with 36% saying they will eat less so that they can provide food for their children*. The Make Lunch Club in Hinckley is part of a larger network of clubs run by TLG (Transforming Lives for Good), a national children’s charity that provides struggling children and families with a supportive and inclusive community. Parents and carers were able to join their children to enjoy a hot meal on the day whilst engaging in a range of enriching games and activities.

School holiday entertainment

SUSO provided goodie bags for the children which included toys for them to play with over the school holidays including mini footballs and bubble blowers. They also had a special appearance from Fizzo, their mascot, who alongside the SUSO team was able to play and interact with the children and families.

Peter McGrath, Operations Director, at Meals & More, comments “We are thrilled to see the SUSO Corporate Sponsorship having an impact across our network and have recently enjoyed a day together with some of the children and young adults we provide support to, along with the SUSO mascot, Fizzo. Knowing that they are going to have nutritious food and drinks during their school holidays, as well as a lot of fun, means a huge amount to the children and young adults we support. And they particularly enjoyed having fun with Fizzo’.

Nelly Edwards, Commercial Manager at SUSO adds, “Going along to see the fun the children are having during this holiday period was inspiring and we are extremely proud that the SUSO brand is helping make a difference to many children and young people. Meals & More are an extremely important charity in helping end holiday hunger during challenging times for many families with the current cost of living crisis. We are looking forward to continuing the partnership and making positive changes to children’s lives”.

SUSO will continue to support Meals & More across the next three years of the partnership.
